ÂEver since I moved here completely, last Saturday, I haven’t seen sunshine. It’s been overcast the whole time. What started that Saturday is only now – Thursday – starting to end. I’m glad too. Apparently this was the winter storm of ’04 – ’05. This is in comparison to the big winter storm of 2002 ( I think ). I was in that storm too, ironically also in Kansas City.
Yesterday morning I had almost a solid inch of ice on my windshield. Glad I woke up a little early to start the car 20 – 30 minutes before I had to leave for work. Today I did the same routine, however the second I walked out of my door, I realized it was much colder. The wind was what sent the cold to my bones. Geeze! When I got back inside, I checked the weather to find out what the actual temperature was: 5°F, feels like -6°F. Yeah, cold.
Thankfully the next few days are all starting to get warmer and there is no more rain / sleet / snow.
2 degrees, feels like 2 here. Actually, earlier this morning I think it was about -2 feels like -8 or something like that.
Yeah, it’s flipping cold out there. And I’ve also learned that my new car pretty much sucks in the snow. I guess that’s what I get for insisting on 18″ rims with low-profile sport tires (definitely not winter-rated). Yesterday afternoon, I couldn’t get into my apartment parking lot, because it has very small hills going up into it. I expect I’m in for the same problem today. I’ll have to find a nearby flat parking lot to park in, probably. Argh.
Have I mentioned that I hate snow?
Jeff, I had a similar problem when I lived in Chase, only it was reversed. I couldn’t get out of Chase parking lots do to the raised exits. Bastards.
I hate snow too! Just thought I’d let you all know.
