Hi, All:
I am a bass plyaer, singer, songwriter.
We are in need of some info for the Festival.
I have won the songwriting competition in the "Feel Good" Category:) and wil be performing there saturday afternoon on the 20th.
One of my best fiends, Billy Ward is a one time winner of the fiddle contest, and is entered to perfomr in both fiddle and faltpicking competetions.

We are coming in separate vehicels, and planning on camping in tents for the entire festival, and of course having some amazing jams.

Does nayone know the best area to set up where w'el have some shade? Is there any shade to be had? If so, should we get there a day or two early to make sure we have shade?
Does anyone plan on getting there early?

as a veteran winfield person (29years, don't go to many stages - except for Stage 5 on often occasion. Although I have a trailer and camp in trailer section, I spend a lot of time in the Pecan Grove, for jams and seeing all the people I know and don't know. It is the time of my life! I am am an official member of the Beer Garden! Tommy is amazing and I like the Wilder's. I say "sleep is optional. you can sleep at home when you get there." See you at the Landrun and in September! LaNita

You poor thing! We saw all five of Tommy's solo sets, and they were all amazing. If you can swing the time off, come down a day or two before the festival actually starts. That's when the diehards (like us) camp out, and you can hear every kind of music under the sun. You might even snag a little extra sleep! :)
Glad you had a good time, and please do come back.
